Math is a discipline that scares children because it requires great concentration and triggers performance anxiety. Learning the multiplication tables requires a remarkable memory effort whose purpose children don’t understand. So rote learning becomes just a way to make adults happy. Children don’t like this activity because they don’t understand what it is for. This attitude can be changed through play. The CD offers children the opportunity to learn math through entertaining games (puzzles, naval battle, etc) that are all based on the knowledge of the multiplication tables. The use of the Interactive Whiteboard allows the creation of a shared playing environment.

THE BOOK

The book is divided into units of increasing difficulty so that children approach the multiplication tables in a gradual way. The worksheets assign playful activities and exercises that allow children to learn multiplication without pain. The book also offers guidelines to adapt the exercises to the different levels of competence.

Learning, helping, being together, sharing activities and having fun—learning the multiplication tables won’t be without effort, but it will be a much more pleasant activity.
